Our vision at The River Academy is to create an environment in which each child’s natural strengths, talents, and spiritual gifts will flourish. We also desire to take the child’s weaknesses and disabilities and see them transformed into strengths by motivating them with Godly principles. Teaching children in an atmosphere of acceptance and promoting what the Bible says about them will transform how they see themselves and ultimately how they respond to life situations. Our goal is to equip children to excel in their academic understanding of the world around them and relate to others in a positive way.
Hours of Instruction: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The River Academy is under the watchful care of Rapha Ministries International. The River Academy is a member of The Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI). It is in the process of being fully accredited through ACSI. The Academy is a nonprofit Christian organization that is faith based.
The curriculum materials used in Kindergarten through Fifth grade include: Abeka, Rod& Staff, ACSI, My Fathers World, Math-U-See, and Kids in Ministry. The courses include Language, Phonics/Spelling, Spanish, Reading, Math, Penmanship, History/Geography, Science/Health, Government studies, Computer Lab, Music, Art, and Physical Education. Not only will your child attend chapel each week but he or she will have Bible classes daily.
Field trips and special events held at the school throughout the year will influence, excite, and motivate your child to learn. Music, Art, Dance, and Guitar lessons, are part of the extracurricular activities that your child can be involved in for the 2011-2012 school year.
Each spring Academy students are administered the Stanford Achievement Test (SAT). Students receive national percentiles and percentiles against other Christian schools.
